This disc is a great compilation of many classic Romeo & Juliet themed orchestral works. With works by Delius, Berlioz, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Kabalevsky, and Svendsen you get more than an hour's worth of passionate and exciting music. If you are a Romeo & Juliet fan, then this disc is for you! The highlight of the disc is the Tchaikovsky Fantasy Overture after Shakespeare--it's twenty minutes... This disc is a great compilation of many classic Romeo & Juliet themed orchestral works. With works by Delius, Berlioz, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Kabalevsky, and Svendsen you get more than an hour's worth of passionate and exciting music. If you are a Romeo & Juliet fan, then this disc is for you! The highlight of the disc is the Tchaikovsky Fantasy Overture after Shakespeare--it's twenty minutes of pure romantic passion and angst!

The only down side of this recording is that there is no listing of who the performers are or who conducted the ensembles. I would have liked to compliment the wonderful musicians who made up this recording...but alas, all I can say is, Great job, you made this recording what it is...FANTASTIC! You made the story of Romeo & Juliet apparent in all of the different pieces! Kudos!
