Aurora
Aurora explores and presents important composers and artists on the contemporary music scene of Norway. New orchestral, chamber, experimental and electronic releases have been issued through Aurora for 50 years. Several releases also include works by such international names as Xenakis, Lachenmann, Messiaen and Francesconi. The performance aspect of contemporary music remains crucial to the outcome the work. The highly profiled artists recording for Aurora include ensemble recherche, Truls Mørk, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Arditti Quartet, Håkon Austbø, Cikada, BIT20, Nordic Voices, Rolf-Erik Nystrøm and Peter Herresthal. Also the labels NOR (a compilation label geared towards the tourist market) and Norwegian Composers (now part of the Aurora label) are available. Some 200 available releases with well-known Norwegian composers like Arne Nordheim, Rolf Wallin, Lasse Thoresen, Cecilie Ore, Knut Nystedt and many others.
